Message There seems to be alot of post concerning the value and functionality of ebay parts. These post only stand to become more frequent during harder economic times due to the refocusing on cost effectiveness in our daily lives. So, for those weary of the arguments, and the new people on the site, and because I am bored, here is the explanation.

Many manufacturers use ebay as an outlet for their products. These include companies that spend an incredible amount of time in R&D to insure that their product will offer the Z enthusiast quality and longevity. This process increases the monitary value of the product due to the time invested, material quality, and the functional quality. The other end of the spectrum are the manufacturers that cheaply copies the work of the innovators, use lesser materials along with less stringent build practices, and bring you a product that looks the same.

Now, to the point. There are manufacturers that share your passion for a wonderful automobile. These maufacturers charge for their product in order to stay in business to innovate more products to offer the Z community. These are the people we should support so that our cars have a chance to progress into the future and be respected as they have been since their inception. There are many that say, and I quote, "Just because your part cost more doesn't make it better". This statement is very true. The issue is very much quality, not price. A quick example: MSP turbo manifolds=$895=fitment, high flow rate, and the opportunity to save thousands of dollars of labor due to cracks. Ebay manifold=$150=so/so fitment, low flow rate, and the opportunity to reschedule christmas because your manifold is cracked and you have to buy the MSP manifolds anyway.

The ultimate point is this. We own wonderful, elegant, powerful cars with a rich racing history. In essense, it's not a Civic. The Z is an expensive car to maintain and upgrade. The Z requires precision in all aspects of its operation. If you must put low quality parts on your car, please stay away from major mechanical / electrical funtions and stick to lights and or shift knobs. For everything else, support the shops with proven parts. Your wallet and the people who take pride in their Z will eventually thank you.
